We bought Ily a Taylor Swift edition Baby Taylor for Christmas but it has been on back order so she didn't get it on Christmas. It finally came in last night and she was so excited to go with Dad to pick it up.

I love sitting here listening to her practice in the living room.

Ily and I have started a notebook thanks to Pinterest for the idea. We write notes back and forth every day. I'm loving it, she has been able to tell me things that maybe she wouldn't tell me in person. I'm definitely saving the notebook to reread when she gets older and plan to continue this for a long time.

St Jude's Walk

We had the opportunity to participate in the St Jude's 5K Walk this morning with Joe's work. We love doing these walks they're so touching and a great way to teach my kids about helping those in need.
This walk was at the Zoo which added a special treat to get to walk for others and see the animals. Ily and Joey were occupied seeing the animals it kept them from complaining they were tired!

New addition coming to our family July 15th!
We are excited. Ily can't stand herself. She was screaming and jumping up and down when we told her. She couldn't wait to tell everyone and got on the phone right away to call all the family. She has even started a name list.
Seeing her so excited makes this pregnancy even more fun.
Joey's excited to he told me 'Mom, you know you're gonna get fat?' gotta love a 4 year old mind.

So far I'm feeling good. I didn't get sick with the other two so hopefully this one will be nice to me too. Some smells do get me a little queezy but nothing major.
Just tired all the time.
I'll keep you all updated on baby progress!

Taylor Swift Concert

Joe bought tickets to take Ily to see Taylor Swift in concert. She LOVES Taylor. Her room has a Taylor wall with 5 posters hung and she's learning to play the guitar like her.
I set up a scavenger hunt around the house and taped the tickets to one of her Taylor posters on her wall. She was so excited when she opened the envelope and saw the tickets.
Joe wanted to take her to the concert 'Daddy Daughter Date'.
So sweet, how could I say no?

Joey had a great Birthday filled with lots of friends and family. My parents were able to be here for his birthday for the first time!

Florida

Here are some pictures from our trip to Florida for my Grandpa's funeral. The reason we were there was sad but we made the most of it.

My grandpa was in the Navy and lived on the base. Pelican dressed up like a Navy soldier.

On one of our flights the plane was so small my kids got to sit by themselves I had to sit across from them. Notice both with headphones in their ears playing with their iPod and DS. They are so easy to fly with.

My Grandpa passed away last week. He lived a long 87 years. He still took care of himself and was in good health for the most part. It was a bit of a surprise to get the call from my mom that Grandpa had passed away. Tears flowed and guilt set in that I hadn't gotten to Florida recently to visit him. He and I emailed almost every day til the very end. I hadn't gotten an email from him in a couple days and asked my mom if he was doing ok. She told me he is confused and forgetting things but wouldn't go to the dr because he said he was a dr doesn't need to go see one. My grandpa was a Surgeon in the Navy and also a Captain. He traveled the world and saw and accomplished lots. My kids and I flew to Florida for his funeral and what a neat experience that was. Being that he was a Navy Captain he got a service that I will never forget. They shut down the roads from the funeral home to the cemetery on the Navy Base, guards saluting as we passed through the gates, soldiers in white waiting for us, a gun salute and the way they fold the flag was amazing.
I miss you grandpa but glad you are with grandma again. Love you both

Chore Dice

I am loving our new evening time chore dice! Every evening the kids roll the dice to see what their chore is. One side is help with dinner, set the table, wipe off table, etc. There's even a free pass where they get the night off and one says Your Choice.
So far they are having fun with it. Hope it lasts!

Ily goes through phases where she will let me do cute things to her hair and other times she just wants a headband or pony tail.
Lately she has been wanting cute things done and I'm loving it. We have been looking at pictures on the Internet and this is what we did today.

I tied it in 2 knots and secured it with bobby pins.

We curled it using the no heat curl method. You can see a video of how to do that on YouTube. Can't wait to see what she let's me do tomorrow!

I have always wanted to tour the Blue Bell Factory but we never have until now! It was neat listening and watching how they make the best ice cream. And the best part.....you get to taste whatever kind of ice cream you want! We had a great time.

I can't believe my little girl turned 7!
She wanted to have a mommy day so we sent Joey to Grandma's and I surprised her and took her to get her nails and hair done. She loved it!
I asked her what she wanted for lunch and she said "chicken and gravy". That's her favorite. Notice her shirt says "maybe gravy" I made that shirt because of her love for gravy and because one of the girls on a show she watches has a shirt like that.
So we went and got chicken with gravy.
For dinner we met the family at BJ's for pizza and yummy root beer. Another of Ily's favorites.
Followed by presents at home!

Colorado Trip

We spent from June 2nd-28th in Colorado visiting lots of family so I have a TON of pictures. I've been trying to post them for a couple weeks now but I just have so many pictures it's taking me awhile. I keep trying to condense the number of pics I post but there's so many good ones I want to post hem all!

So I decided to break it up into a few posts.

Of couse the first thing Ily wanted to do when we got there was go see Uncle Chance's horse.

She LOVES horses and enjoyed watching my brother ride.

We went down to Kingsville, TX to spend Easter with some of Joe's family.

We had a lot of fun!

Ily woke up got her church dress on and ran to grandma and grandpa's room to go have breakfast with them in the hotel lobby.

She came back and woke up Joey to see what the Easter Bunny had brought.

After church we changed and headed to the ranch.

At the Spring Carnival at Ily's school Joe bid on an auction for Ily to go horse back riding with her teacher and won! Ily was so excited!

Our friends from Austin came to visit and we took them to pick strawberries at Froberg's Farm. We love going here every year to pick strawberries than we come home and make chocoalte covered strawberries. Our favorite!

March = Rodeo Time!

We look forward to March every year. We LOVE the rodeo! I love it because it reminds me of home. The smell when you walk into the stadium smells like my home town. Some may say "grose" but I say "home"!

I love that my family loves going just as much as I do.

The ponies are Ily's favorite. She has to ride the pony before we can do anything else. She got to ride 2 this year because Joey chickened out and the guy let her ride 2 ponies. She was in heaven!
They loved the rides and games this year.

This ride was hilarious. It would bounce up and down and they were laughing so hard

The farm where they got to plant seeds, milk a cow, collect eggs and wool and sell it to the market in return for money. Than they got to go to the store and buy a snack with the money they earned. It was cute!

The Candy Store!!!! They give you a basket and you go down rows and rows of candy and fill your basket. We love this but spend way too much on candy!

Field Trip to the Fire Station

We went on a field trip to the Fire Station with Joey's preschool class.

Joey loves to go see the fire trucks. Everytime we go visit my family he always asks Papas to take him for a ride on the fire trucks. Joey didn't understand why he couldn't go for a ride on these trucks.

For those of you that don't know. My parents and brother are all Fire Fighters. I grew up at the fire station. My parents joined the Fire Dept. when I was 10, the fire dept was like family. My Dad is now the Captain, my Mom is the Luitenant and my Brother Travis is 1 of 3 paid Fire Fighters.

I am very proud of my parents and brother. The sacrifices they make to help others is amazing. They put their lifes on the line to save someone they don't even know.

Joey's sick thumb

Last Sunday we noticed a big puss pocket on Joey's thumb. He got one last year when he got oral herpes so we just thought it was probably the same thing. We soaked it and put the cream the Dr gave us last time on it but after 5 days of it not getting any better I decided to take him to the Dr to get it looked at. His Dr wasn't completely sure what it was from so she poked it and took a culture. Joey did not like that one bit he cried and cried, it was so sad. When she poked it where the pocket was turned blue/purple, it was grose. She got me a little nervous when she just sat there studying his thumb for a couple minutes and said she was going to go get another Dr to get another opinion on it. They talked about what the best thing to do for his thumb would be and ended up putting him on 2 antibiotics and an antibiotic cream and told me to continue soaking it and if it didn't look better in the morning to bring him back in and they may have to do surgery on it to clean it out. The word "surgery" was not what I wanted to hear, I was pretty worried about his little thumb. We did what she told us to do that day and night and in the morning it kind of looked like it was getting better but was still ugly so we took him back in just to have her look at it so we could go through the weekend at ease and not be worried about it. She looked at it and was happy with the way it was responding to the medicines. What a relief!

She didn't mention the word "surgery"! She drained more of the pocket but thankfully daddy was there to help me hold Joey and keep him still while she did that.

Today it still looks nasty but looks much better than it did 3 days ago. Joey has been such a tough little boy through all of this. He hasn't really complained much about his thumb and has been taking his medicine nicely and soaking his thumb without too much of a fight.

We are SO happy that each day it looks a little better!

My Birthday!

I had a good Birthday this year. Last year turning 30 hit me hard and wasn't looking forward to that birthday but this year, turning 31 wasn't too bad. My friends surprised me with a birthday party which was very sweet of them and a lot of fun.

Than on my birthday I had lunch with the family in Kemah and than took Ily to her friend's roller skating birthday party. It was a lot of fun I hadn't been skating in forever!

We had a long day with family and friends but we had so much fun.

My Sister and Stephen Come to Visit!

Joe went to Miami for a week with work so my sister Jana (we call her Nanie) and her boyfriend Stephen came to stay with us for a few days.

Christmas....way behind posting these sorry

We drove to Colorado for Christmas to visit my family and Joe's sister and neice.

I was so impressed at how well Ily and Joey did in the car for 22 hours. It did help that we had lots of technology for them (IPad and Ipod) to watch their movies on and listen to their music and audiobooks.

They even got to unwrap a little present when we crossed into a new state and when it got dark I gave them glow in the dark necklaces to play with. They enjoyed that!

This was Joey when he first woke up actally when Ily first woke him up. He wasn't happy with her but soon got over it when he saw his presents.

This bench my parents had seen on their way back from Cortez which is 4 hours south of where my parents live. They had stopped to talk with the guy who had them in his yard for sale but nobody ever came out so they continued on home.

The next weekend my mom went to visit my sister in Greeley so my dad being romantic drove 4 hours to go back and buy this bench for my mom. So sweet of him! She was very surprised and loves it. Good Job Dad!

The day after Christmas we got back in the car with Joey throwing up the whole way and headed to Denver. We dropped the kids off at Joe's sister's house and Joe and I went to the Bronco vs Texan game. I felt bad leaving Joey but he told me he felt better and it was ok for me to leave. So sweet.

I didn't know who to cheer for though so I sat quietly and just watched. This game was an experience. I had never been to a Bronco game the whole time I lived in Colorado. It's an outside stadium in the freezing cold. Instead of beer vendors walking the isles selling beer they had hot chocolate! Which was actually good hot chocolate!

The Broncos ended up winning.

We stayed the night at Missy's house than got back in the car and headed home. Stayed the night in Oklahoma and finished our journey the next morning.

Love my kids for being so good in the car and the whole time away from home.

And loved being with family for the holidays.

I'm on the PTO (if you didn't know that already) so I had to work during the event and Joe had to get the kids fed and dressed in their jammies and bring them to the school. I did get away from my hot chocolate station for a little bit to walk around with them but had to quickly get back. Thanks hun for being Mr Mom that night! Love you

Ily's haircut

Ily has always had long hair. She never wanted it cut not even trimmed but she had a change of heart. I knew this day was coming and I tried to prepare myself but it was still hard for me to watch her hair fall to the floor. I told the lady I wasn't going to look.

Ily originally wanted to cut 10" off but I talked her into cutting 5 and she was happy with that. Thank goodness 10 would have been short.

Before...it definately needed trimmed up and that's all this all started. I kept telling her it needs trimmed it was getting scraggely (sp) and that's when she started asking about what she would look like with it shorter. Of course she would look cute in any length, I just loved her long hair.

It looks so cute! And much easier to take care of.

Christmas Tree

We decided since we were going to Colorado for Christmas we would get our tree the day after Thanksgiving so we could enjoy it for awhile before we left.

She was being silly and put the tree skirt around her like a dress.

Trip to Austin

We took a little road trip to Austin for a friend's Birthday party which I didn't take any pictures at. oops

But the kids had fun!

After the party we headed to our hotel which was a really nice hotel.

We were sitting there watching TV and Ily went to the window and noticed fireworks right outside.

The kids climbed up on the couch that was by the window and we got to see a nice firework show!

They were so excited to be in a hotel they didn't go to bed till super late. I think Joe and I might have fallen asleep before them. Just kidding.
This road trip was a practice run for our big road trip to Colorado for Christmas.
We learned a lot like packing Ily who gets car sick lots of plastic bags and lots of extra clothes. And a big bottle of Febreeze. Poor girl I was the same way when I was younger I know how she feels. We will be more prepared for the big trip.

Houston Arboretum

I can not believe I have lived here for 9 years now and hadn't heard about the Houston Arboretum. I told Joe we needed to go and it being such a nice day today we decided to go check it out.

The kids loved it! They could run and play on the trails and inside they learned about different animals and plants.

We will definately be going back!

Gringo's was asking for kids to draw a picture to be featured on their kids menu.

Ily drew one and turned it in and waited patiently for it to come out.
We didn't tell her that her picture was out on the menu when we took her to dinner, we wanted it to be a surprise and that it was.

The look on her face when she saw it was her picture was priceless and I was able to catch it on camera!

She just noticed that it was her picture.

She did such a good job on her drawing. She drew the giraffe and wanted to draw a monkey and alligator but didn't know how. I pulled up a picture on the internet of a monkey and alligator and she looked at it and drew it.

I'm so proud of my big boy.

We have been working on and off with potty training Joey. He'll show interest for a few days than he could careless. Sunday we ran out of diapers and I told him we have no more diapers that it's time to start going in the potty.

From than on he has stayed dry! Even at night!

Still having a little issue with #2 but that's expected.

Pretty much potty trained right before his 3rd Birthday! I'm so happy!

The Weekend

This last weekend was suppose to be a busy one. Ily's soccer game at 8, Birthday Party across town at 10 and than the Lymphoma and Leukemia Walk in honor of my dad that night.

That didn't all happen, Joey ended up getting sick at Ily's soccer game so he and I came home and Joe took Ily to the party at Old McDonald's Farm and she had tons of fun! Pumpkin Patch and her favorite....riding horses!

I couldn't leave Joey that night to go to the walk so I missed it. I was a little bummed because that walk means a lot to me but my buddy needed me. Thankfully he was only sick for that day and woke up happy as can be on Sunday.

I got to help in Joey's class. It was so fun to see how he is in class and what he's learning.

He's a good little boy, raises his hand, helps when she needs help and listens when she's talking.

I was impressed with my little man don't know why he's a good boy at home too.

His teacher has cards with the ABC printed on them and when they sing the ABC song they're suppose to point to the letters. He did well, he knows a lot of his letters.

We put on our burnt orange and headed to the football game.

He was so excited! Thursday night we went to the Texans game Saturday afternoon Longhorn game. He can't get enough football. Definitely his father's son!

Joey's first day of preschool

Joey is going to a little home preschool at a friends house on Wednesday mornings from 9-11:30.

He is loving it. It's been good for him to get out and be around other kids and learn a little bit. And it's been good for me too!

The first day he learned about "A" and she gave them little ant farms and a magnifing glass.

I will post real quick that Ily and I are participating in the "Light the Night" walk again this year. This walk is for Lymphoma and Leukemia and is very special and emotional to us because my dad is a Lymphoma Survivor.

I thank God everyday for giving my dad the strength to keep fighting and to never give up so many years ago.

He has been cancer free for over 30 years!

I love you dad and I love doing this walk in your honor!

I can't believe how quickly the summer went by. Ily has been ready to go back to school for awhile now she gets too bored at home. She was super excited it was school time.

Joey on the other hand wasn't so excited Sissy was going back to school and leaving him.

He cried when it was time to say goodbye. Poor guy.

We had a fun 4th of July with lots of family in town.

Summer.....

What have we been doing this summer so far?????

One day Joey went to his friend's house and Ily and I went and got our first Mother/Daughter pedicure!

She thought she was such a big girl sitting there.
The lady asked if she wanted her finger nails done. Ily gave me this "can I mom" look.
But we didn't have enough time we needed to go get Joey.
I made the mistake of telling her we will come back and get our finger nails done.
Now she asks me all the time "WHEN?"
Hot Pink...would you expect any other color?
The lady painted these really pretty flowers on her big toes.
It was very cute!
After we picked up Joey we headed to the water park in our neighborhood.
We were there for 2 1/2 hours. The kids could have stayed there all day if I'd let them.

She's such a good big sister. She always looks after him and helps him when he needs it.

He was a big boy going down the slide alone.

And Ily decided to be brave and go down the big slide.

Both kids are finally better (well almost Joey's thumb is still infected but getting better) so I can finally get back to the routine of things.

The kids played in their little frog pool in the back yard while Joe and I put together a shed.

And we also went swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Sorry to those of you who check my blog regularly looking for something new to be posted and finding nothing new. Ily and Joey have been sick for over 2 weeks now and it has not been fun for them or for me. Joey is finally better and Ily I'm hoping will be over it soon and get back to her last few days of school.
And I will be back to blogging!

This week at school Ily was so excited she didn't have to wear uniforms and she could dress fun!

Tuesday was 50's day! Ily's cousin Kelsey use to be in dance and had this cute poodle skirt that we borrowed.

March of Dimes Walk

Ily and I participated in the March of Dimes 5 mile walk last weekend.

I just love doing these walks. It's such a great feeling knowing that you're helping out others in need. This one was for preemie babies. It was so sad to see the banners and t-shirts that were dedicated to those little ones who did not make it because they were born too early.

But on the happier side it was neat to see the little ones that were riding in strollers and wagons that did survive.

I love taking Ily with me on these walks to talk to her and teach her about why we are doing this. It makes me really think and realize how blessed I am to have 2 healthy happy babies.

We went with some friends on this walk and after 2 miles the girls needed a break. We stopped at a park so they could play for a little bit.

After about 4 miles they needed to cool their feet down. I was so glad I took a stroller for Ily.

She walked quite a bit but there was no way she was going to be able to walk the whole 5 miles.

Every mile they had a tent handing out water. At 3 miles they handed out Pepsi and at 4 miles they handed out Blue Bell Ice Cream Sandwiches! I think the girls had 2 each!

They deserved it though, they did so good.

We made it....5 miles!
